Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is coming up on Tuesday, December 3rd, and if you are looking for a great organization to support, we hope you’ll take a moment to give thanks to the Buri Buri teachers who are on DonorsChoose.org. This amazing website allows teachers to sign up for supplies for specific needs in their classroom, and on Giving Tuesday, 12/3/19, DonorsChoose will match donations with an additional 50%. That's halfway closer to the teachers' goals of fulfilling their classroom supply list!

Check out the links below to learn more about how to donate to our Buri Buri teachers’ projects.

Mrs. Garcia-Rovetta would like to add tablets to her classroom, so students can access programs where they can listen to books being read to them, while also following the words on the screen.
https://www.donorschoose.org/project/3rd-graders-love-listening-to-reading/4398386/

Ms. Marty teaches K-2 grade students with differentiated lessons and would like to add iPads as tools to customize learning for each student.
https://www.donorschoose.org/project/ipads-for-differentiated-lessons/4410476/

Ms. Hillman understands that students learn best when they are comfortable. She’s looking to add clipboards and lap desks to her classroom so her students have options for a comfortable learning environment.

Mrs. Beckett has an amazing book library for her students but it could use a little better home. A new book shelf will help keep the classroom books super organized and minimize wear and tear.

Health-a-thon Fundraiser Update

Dear Buri Families,

We had our Health-a-thon event on Friday 3/16. There was rain off-and-on all day so some classes did their activities inside, others were able to go outside. Some plan to do their events again later in the year when the weather is better.

We especially want to thank all those who have donated to our fundraiser. We are so close to our goal of $20,000 for our school garden and Education Outside program. We will be accepting donations until this Friday 3/23/18. There are donation forms in the office or you can print it below and turn in donations with your own envelope. We will announce the top fundraiser winners will be announced March 28. T-shirts, fidget spinners, and homework passes should be delivered after spring break.

Thank you again! Please see prize info below. Please contact the PTA if you have any questions.

Buri Buri has 611 students. We can reach our goal if every student raises at least $32.74.

We hope you will generously support this fundraiser!

When you are finished fundraising, please turn in your donation envelopes to the PTA box in the office or your child’s teacher.
Final donation deadline is 3/23/18

Extra donation envelopes are in the office. Or you can print this donation form and use any envelope:

Please make checks payable to Buri Buri PTA

The PTA is a 501c3 organization so all donations are tax deductible. Please contact buriburipta@gmail.com  if you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes.

Our amazing 5th grade students in Mrs. Stone's class made this powtoon about our school garden. Please check it out!
